4-30-09: Arrived here on Monday the 27th with the dogs. 90° temps for a couple days before it cooled off again. I had a post-ski-season week off of work and decided that i’d rather spend it down here than up in vermont. I chopped up some logs with the chainsaw and loaded up my truck with firewood. Nice peaceful stay.

10/5/09: A beautiful October weekend — Tree colors not yet peaked. Adam & I met here to ready the house for winter. he built the ditch on the upper drive – big stones on bottom and small stones on top – so now the mower can move easily over this waterway. Mowed the lawn. Put swings in — new table & chairs in — and I am taking a sample of the “slime” that is growing in large patches of the driveway to Morris Arboretum to find out what it is!!
J
The dogs hate these short visits. Ah well. Back to VT for another winter.
