5-24-19: Monday – May 27, 2019 – Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend! Celly, Juice, Fitz, Fresca, Sharon and I had an amazing time on your lake, eating at your restaurant in Shunk, playing Risk, Scrabble, Pandemic – all of which I lost. Making s”mores Saturday night to the player piano old timey tunes. So proud to see all the kids kayaking by themselves on the lake. Grateful Steven could rescue Sharon after she fell out of her kayak into the lake. Can’t wait to come back! Thanks Jason, Abby, and Steven! Happy Memorial Day! Next time, Fitz and I are going to sleep in the barn, too.
Sincerly, Fitz Sharon Bates Al__ Bates Francesca Bates

6-29-2019: Paul here Casey & Ari, Julia, and Merrick.
Arrived Saturday 6/22 before dark. Depart 9AM Sat. 6/29. A, J, & M are high school classmates of casey’s – all recent graduates. This is Ari’s first visit. Julia has been here thrice before, Merrick once.
Casey turned 18 on the 26th. We had a nice dinner with Ann Bob Lindley Zeke Leo & Olympia. The teen had spent the day at Knoebel’s – Casey’s first solo trip to K’s.
Beautiful weather all week. Blue skies, puffy clouds, warm temps.
One group outing to World’s End and the overlook. Kayak races, hikes around the lake, a trip to “Ted” (Casey’s name for the giant Spruce up the grade). The teens spent hours playing Legacy Betrayal. A couple evening Scrabble games. Lunch at the General Store.
Wildlife sightings include numerous deer, a garter snake, ravens and 3 Luna Moths who spent one day “roosting” around the front door, above the woodpile and on the tramp netting.
A few chores got done. Front door screen repaired. Bathroom door knob replaced – it now locks. Some pruning. Sawed up a pine at lake edge killed by beaver.
Paul got in 3 bike rides, one down Schrader Creek about 10 miles, one to Sharp Top, and one around Maple Summit with Mary Blondy.
We originally planned to leave Friday, but then both Linda Ladd Zerbe and Mary arrived, so we stayed one more day to spend time with them. Mary graciously hosted us at her place on the Loyalsock last night.
Awesome week.
