5-9-18: Arrived to open house for the season (in the Mini)
5-13-18: Last day here. Solid rain the last two days — fire going all day. House is clean and ready for summer people. I got some writing done while I was here. Still feels weird without dogs.
–Adam
5-29-18: Pleasure once again to use the cabin for our family. Fish were caught by kids and lots of jumping on the trampoline. Kids loved running around and having fun.

6/18/18: Made the loooong drive up from Nashville to meet up with Charlie & Liz and friends for the weekend. Much too short of a trip, but I haven’t been in a couple years so always worth it. Swam, hiked, spiked, gamed, another successful lake trip! –Thomas & Maggie
6/18/18: Beautiful weather and a full house made for one of our favorite lakehouse weekends yet! Seeing stars (even some shooting ones!) was great for us “city people.” Played so many games and we even solved the Question of Identity! Can’t wait for next year!!

7/28: Dad and I came up for the week! I am determined to make him be on time for once, so in order to expidite the leaving process, I am filling out the log book.
We ate, we drank, he rode his bike, I played my violin, & I kayaked. Loads of fun!

8/15/18: New Roof! Brian Brown took 10 days to put the roof — in between raindrops. Good for the next 20 years.
8/20: Java
31 newts! Not a new record though. 5 more to go! –Naima
Lots of rain (very muddy) almost every day! Naima and I built cities and town on the stumps in the lake — at least the ones which weren’t covered! — and then I worked on creating detailed maps of them. Lots of fun every day! –Isaiah
8/25: Congratulations on your mouse trap success! 5 in one night!!

9/3/18: Good by dear house! We’ve loved having you for 47 years. But now you have passed on to our seven children – to be cared for and enjoyed. Remember, among our trees, there is an American Elm, two English beeches, and the Dawn Redwoods.
Love you all!
Mommy, Mother, Grandmother, Joanne
Daddy, Pop, Ken
10-3-18: Adam & I are here, closing down the house. Much to do! New roof this summer. The sand pile has grown over. The political news has riveted the nation: Pres. Trump with his ill-got money gains, and the nomination possibility of Brett Kavenaugh on the Supreme Court.
It’s been a very rainy summer. The leaves are beginning to turn ¶ fall. It remains one of the quietest & most remote places around! Always reluctant to leave.
Joanne
10-4-18: The internet went out as soon as Mommy left yesterday. I’ve emptied the water lines and closed up the house. Warm, humid, overcast. Not much fall color.
